About We Rock the Spectrum Baltimore, MD

Randi and her husband are the parents of two wonderful children – a 24-year-old son and a 16-year-old daughter. Their journey began when their son was diagnosed with ASD at the age of 3. Doctors provided little hope or encouragement that he would be able to live independently or even speak “I love you”. After much research and visits to other states, Randi and her husband made the decision to relocate to Maryland to pursue the best quality life for their son. Fast forward twenty years later, Randi and her family have many experiences worth sharing! Despite the odds that were presented to them, their son has since delivered his high school commencement speech, earned his diploma, has lived on his own on a college campus, attends a yearly residential summer camp, has a job coach, and says I love you each day.

During her son’s upbringing, Randi dealt with many difficult situations that many autism families must face – defending or explaining behavior, stares and whispers, not being able to plan a birthday party at a venue, hours of speech, physical and occupational therapies, and not feeling welcomed at recreational places. Once she came across We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym, she immediately knew that it was something she wanted to be part of so she could provide hope for those in her community that have had similar experiences.

The Smith-Delone family is beyond excited to bring this unique opportunity to so many deserving families in the greater Baltimore area. Their goal is to provide a place where ALL ages and abilities can interact with one another in a safe and inclusive environment. We are so thankful to have them join the We Rock family.
